Our Attorneys


Jim Berger practices law with the firm of Berger Estate & Elder Law P.A., located in Leawood, Kansas. He is licensed in Kansas and Missouri, and concentrates his practice in the areas of elder law, probate, and estate planning. He has been an attorney for 25 years. He has also earned the Certified Financial Planner(CFP) professional designation.

Jim received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Minnesota, magna cum laude, and his law degree from William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Jim is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys - recently serving as President of the Kansas chapter, the Eastern Kansas Estate Planning Council, the Kansas Bar Association Section on Real Estate, Probate and Trust Law and past Chairman of the Kansas Bar Association Committee on Legal Issues Affecting the Elderly and the Disabled.

Mary Ann Robison practices law with the firm of Berger Estate & Elder Law P.A. and is the office manager. She is licensed in Missouri and concentrates her practice in the area of elder law, probate and estate planning. Mary Ann received her Bachelor of Science degree from Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri, magna cum laudie, and her law degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law.

Mary Ann began her career as a trust officer with Chemical Bank in New York, New York. Upon the birth of their second child, Mary Ann and her husband Jerry returned to Kansas City where they settled down to raise their family. Once their children were well established in school, Mary Ann joined Berger Estate & Elder Law and resumed her interest in estate planning and probate and trust administration.
